On the hottest Monday afternoon, we left the office with great excitement about our visit to The Compleat Angler, a delightful boutique style hotel on the river in the most stunning setting. Part of The McDonald Hotel group, there really was a wonderful feel to the place. After having showered and freshened up, we enjoyed champagne on the lawn overlooking the river with swans gliding around and the sun gleaming in the ripples – unbelievably idyllic. Following a site visit of their lovely event space (2 boardrooms of 12 and 18 pax) and a larger space which could accommodate dinners for 120 pax. The 63-bedroom property is a fantastic venue for special company offsites, team building activities, dinners and meetings – with everything available on the doorstep.
We settled into Sindhu (Atul Kochhar’s restaurant) and it was truly unbelievable. Honestly, if you are looking for a mind blowing delicious Indian style meal – this will not disappoint! Accompanied with pink champagne, we were treated like Queens. An absolute cherry on top, was that we each had a big cosy double bed waiting for us to roll into (literally) following such a ginormous feast. On Tuesday morning we indulged in a delightful breakfast in the Riverside Restaurant with beautiful views onto the river. What a way to start the week…..!
