We are very excited to announce that our team has grown again (we are almost running out of space in the office). Sophie Cann is our new Venue Search London Account Manager, bringing a wealth of knowledge of the events industry. Her fun, bubbly personality will have you falling in love with her and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the dream team (if we do say so ourselves).
We had a little sit down with our newest member, so that we (and you) can get to know her better…
When did you decide you wanted to work in the events industry?
I decided I wanted to work in the event industry whilst I was studying at university and was working part-time as a hostess at one of the West End venues on the door managing the guestlist and table bookings.
What is your favourite event you have ever worked on?
The OK! Christmas party.
Who’s your biggest inspiration?
The females in my family!
What’s your favourite thing about working for VSL so far?
The opportunity to work with so many diverse venues across London, has been so inspiring!
What’s your dream venue you would love to work with?
I would love to work with an iconic London venue such as the Victoria & Albert Museum.
What is your top tip for surviving the events industry?
My top tip is to have confidence in your knowledge and experiences.
What is your proudest event moment?
Hard to pin point just one, for me it would be seeing the end result of an event which over exceeded the venue and client’s expectations.
Meeting both of these can be challenging, but when it works… it works!
Your favourite thing to do outside of work?
Spending time with my boyfriend, friends and family.
