Here at Story, we’re constantly searching for theming inspiration to bring a client’s event to life. As the temperature starts to rise we’re casting our eye towards sizzling summer styling…
Quintessential Garden Party
Embrace the gingham bunting, pour the Pimms and slather scones in cream and strawberry jam because there’s nothing quite as distinctive as a British Summer celebration. Guests can take a step back in time with nostalgic games such as Croquet, Boules, Beach Tennis, Swingball or even Giant Jenga. You can elevate the inclusive and wholesome experience by also involving face-painters and live acoustic performers. Jimmy Garcia Catering will be releasing his new riverside Southbank offering ‘Patch & Picnic’ in May that acts as the perfect picket fence backdrop for this theme.
Havana Nights
Catchy Camilla Cabello song aside, this theme offers a vibrant energy that can transform any venue. Bright colours could manifest in vivid neon lights and striking hanging flower decorations. Palm trees could frame a wooden bar, drawing attention to a bespoke cocktail list emboldened on the panels. Deck chairs and parasols decorated with the iconic Cuban flag can be a designated chill area. While Cuban salsa dancers are perfect to energise the evening and have all your guests interacting.
Outdoor Cinema Club
In the warmer months London begins to open up as luscious green spaces and rooftop venues become an option. Maximise this by creating an outdoor cinema. Hire bean bags and plush sofas or opt for a full 1950’s theme with a drive in movie. Snack stations are ideal to provide guests with choice and act as a perfect branding opportunity. Why not experiment with the classics – popcorn and candyfloss! Print boxes with sponsor’s logos, or even dye the popcorn itself to match your company colours. Put your guests in a magical mood with fairy lights and lanterns scattered across your venue. So as the sun sets, they can settle in with cosy blankets and enjoy watching a story unfold.
