On Monday 17th July Story was invited to a Summer Soiree at the wonderful new children’s museum in Bethnal Green, the Young V&A (formerly known as the V&A Museum of Childhood).
After seven years of creation and innovation, this gorgeous spaced opened its doors on the 1st of July, and is now ready to be taken on by the world of events. It is ideal for corporate events such as Christmas and Summer parties as well as product launches, drinks receptions and gala dinners! The space can host up to 600 standing, 300 in banquet layout or 250 for a dinner dance. The Story sales team were thrilled to be invited to such a hugely anticipated opening, and to be able to see the space in all of its glory alongside so many of our industry peers. The theme of the event was Barbie, and evoked feelings of nostalgia and creativity to everyone in the room.
We arrived at 7pm and were greeted by amazing magicians performing tricks for guests walking through the large entrance. The centre of the bar was filled with beautiful flowers and elements of children’s toys woven through, created by the talented team at Pinstripes and Peonies. We were instantly in awe of the glorious high ceilings, beautiful bright colours, and electric atmosphere the space has to offer.
We were greeted by an array of glasses of Champagne, both white and rosé, as well as gorgeous mocktails. The food station was an iconic, complete with a beautiful display of countless delicious treats, and adorned with various Barbies to encapsulate the theme! We were treated by Zafferano to Bao Buns, Poke Bowls in bowl food style, and a huge selection of canapés circulated on trays themed as race car tracks. Everyone noted the nostalgia seeing the roy cars framing the delicious canapé bites.
The entertainment was also outstanding. There were singers, a DJ, violinists and even a surprise Flash Mob performance to a range of 90s classics curated by Euphonica, which brought a smile to every single person in the room. The huge array of performers truly showed how versatile the space is and how immersive and imaginative it can become.
We ended the evening in the gorgeous Barbie themed photo booth, equipped with many props. Our favourites were the flamingo, glasses and Barbie clipboard!
Thank you so much to the amazing team at the Young V&A for hosting us, it was an amazing evening full of treats, delights and networking with industry friends.
Please get in touch here if you would like to host your next event, and make it as special as this one.
