It was recently World Wellness Week between Monday 26th to Friday 30th of June and Story’s Social Committee (SSC) had a few things planned for the rest of the team…
To encourage movement, fresh air and a bit of healthy competition the SSC launched the walking challenge, complete with a prize for the person to complete the most steps over the working week.
To put our well-being at the forefront of the week, the team needed to take their lunch breaks away from their desks. Whether that was enjoying lunch on the office terrace or taking the opportunity to rack up those steps. We hosted a breath-work session on Tuesday and Thursday and during this time, everyone closed their laptops and were able to stretch and meditate. This provided everyone time to reflect, recharge and restore themselves before resuming their busy afternoons.
In our digital world, laptop breaks are vital for well-being. Excessive screen time strains our eyes, affects physical health, and impacts mental well-being. Regular breaks reduce eye strain and allow us to stretch and move, combating sedentary habits. They also refresh our minds, boosting focus, reducing stress, and enhancing productivity.
Stepping away from screens promotes social connections, preventing isolation. Breaks encourage creativity and inspiration by exposing us to new experiences. Prioritising breaks from laptops fosters a healthier, more balanced life.
Remember, your well-being matters—putting yourself first is a necessity in today’s fast-paced digital age.
