As the days are getting shorter and the evenings longer, we have taken the time to reflect on the busy summer months we have had, filled with wonderful events…
We have organised a range of events here at Story, from inspiring awards ceremonies to team away days and everything in between. Since May 2023 the size of events we have organised have ranged from 50 to 550 guests in attendance and it’s safe to say no event was ever the same!
The planning process for every event always starts with confirming the venue. We have hand-picked and worked in a number of unique venues this summer including the infamous Roundhouse, stunning Shoreditch Gardens and the fantastic HAC City Central. Story have also carried out a range of events from conferences to overnight offsites in various hotels including Sea Containers, The Ned and The Grove. The venues Story sourced have been key in ensuring the success of each of the events and also elevated our experience in working in these venues, which are some of the best in and outside of London.
We have also had the exciting opportunity to enhance pre-existing corporate offices and a famous Oxford Street store over the summer. We love being able to transform pre-existing spaces and turning them into the perfect event backdrop and know that the best way to do this is working with some of our most trusted suppliers in the business. The corporate office had a gorgeous rooftop which our client wanted their staff to be able to enjoy on a summers evening. So we brought on board the fabulous Jimmy Garcia to treat guests with a range of culinary delights.
We also transformed the pre-existing Lush store in order to celebrate their collaboration BARBIE x LUSH. From pink staff uniforms and iPads for check-in, to a glittery pink food station, vinyl’s to the front of the building and fantastic entertainment for all of the “Barbies” and “Kens” in attendance, no element of the launch was left untouched by a bit of Story magic, to ensure that it really was a fully immersive experience.
Catering is always such a fundamental aspect of many events and we have had our fun there too. We kicked off the summer season at HAC City Central and worked with Ministry of Cocktails who served bespoke mocktails with branded wafers and dry ice. We have also carried out our clients requests with offering choice menus to their guests, as well as catering prestigious awards dinners with mouth-watering 3 course meals alongside other wonderful caterers such as Moving Venue.
Entertainment always makes events memorable and we have had quite the selection of acts over the summer. From sourcing and managing celebrity hosts at charity award ceremonies to selecting the perfect party band for guests to dance the night away too, we have worked with a real variety of acts over the summer. We have also created unforgettable moments through roaming entertainment such as roaming magicians and glitter brusherettes.
Activations have also been a key theme this summer and photo booths are still as popular as ever, with even a campervan being used as one! Other activations have included a light tunnel photobooth, edible bubble volcano, an aperol spritz tricycle and nostalgic fun fair games to name just a few!
