On Monday 16th October, Story Events were invited to a glorious dinner at Landing Forty Two, situated on the 42nd floor of ‘The Cheesegrater’ building in the City of London. As London’s highest dedicated event space, this venue is 500ft above street level and offers space for up to 250 guests for conferences, 220 for dinners and up to 300 for standing receptions.
The team were welcomed on arrival by the smiling event staff, along with a gorgeous selection of cocktails, sparkling wine and mocktails. For the next hour guests ate delicious canapés whilst admiring the stunning view of London’s skyline from the floor to ceiling windows. Amongst the hum of guests connecting, a beautiful melody filled the room from the talented saxophonist.
Guests were then called to dinner and a welcome speech was given by the Head of Sales at Landing Forty Two, after which we all took our seats. The tables were decorated beautifully, truly complimenting the venue with a selection of tall candles and little tea lights interspersed between the stunning selection of blue and white flowers.
The food, provided by Landing Forty Two’s dedicated caterer Moving Venue, was absolutely outstanding. For the starter, we had a delicious vegetarian mix of spiced delicata pumpkin, whipped feta, figs, pomegranate, toasted chickpeas and a rocket salad. The chef then announced the main course, loin of venison and a venison meatball, paired with smoked potatoes, mulled red cabbage and crispy kale for the meat eaters, and a slow-roasted curried swede, with a creamy masala sauce, spiced kale, aloo gobi. For the vegetarians and vegans they delighted in a coconut gremolata.
Lastly, we were treated to a gorgeous build-your-own choux dessert station aptly named ‘If The Choux Fits’. Guests could choose from a hazelnut, vanilla or chocolate choux bun, to be accompanied by an array of toppings, such as pineapple, brownie bites, and honeycomb, along with a selection of sweet sauces to top it off!
