Brief:
Our client, Eurostar, wanted to plan and execute a spectacular Christmas Party in the heart of Central London in November 2023. Eurostar envisioned an unforgettable celebration for 1500 guests, and we were thrilled to be the chosen agency for the entire end-to-end event management after winning the pitch. Story were brought on board to oversee all elements including catering, entertainment, production and on-site event support. This was the first Christmas Party held in London for a couple of years, so they wanted to create a show-stopping experience for their guests!
Delivery:
The chosen venue was the historic Old Billingsgate, which provided the perfect backdrop for a night of entertainment. For their Christmas takeover the venue featured a variety of straight mirrored gold bars and a sophisticated selection of occasional reception furniture. There was also a large stage with screens, lighting, plus a 5-piece band and DJ for guests to dance the night away to!
The theme of the event was ‘You’re a Star’ and guests all dressed up as their favourite movie star characters! In order to elevate the theme, Story also brought in additional elements to add a touch of sparkle including a 4m mirrored circular bar, spark fountains, snaparazzi photographers, glitter brusherettes and a movie inspired dance flash mob!
The snaparazzi photographers took guests’ images in front of a bespoke branded Eurostar step and repeat board and gave guests lots of encouragement to strike their best pose! There was also a gold shimmer photobooth with a vintage pod for guests to also take group photos in front of. Story sourced the dedicated photographers and videographers for the event to give our client the best content to remember the night for years to come.
For the catering, guests had a selection of canapes as well as four food stations to satisfy their taste buds throughout the night. Canapes were circulated to guests on arrival which included curried chicken with naan, sausage rolls, Foreman’s hot smoked salmon, Exmoor caviar haddock tart, blushed tomato and a minted cucumber, fennel and ricotta parcel.
As the party reached its peak, the culinary delights unfolded with a diverse selection of food stations. Guests indulged in the global flavours of World Curry, Best of British, Tacos and Nachos, and a scrumptious Sweet Treats station. Adding an extra layer of sophistication, each station boasted uniquely crafted signage by Story, adorned with the Eurostar logo, providing a personalised and distinctive touch to the look and feel of the event.
For the entertainment Story worked closely to with our supplier on a line-up that left our attendees in awe. Suspended above the dance floor, a mesmerising aerial artist captivated the audience with a breath-taking solo routine. The energy soared as a dynamic flash mob filled the middle of the dance floor, seamlessly transitioning through iconic movie songs, including the 007 theme tune, Dua Lipa’s Barbie soundtrack, the timeless ‘Jump for My Love’ from Love Actually, and the show-stopping tunes from The Greatest Showman.
