Summer conferences and company celebrations can benefit hugely from being in a country setting, taking the team out of the busy city into the more relaxing calm of greenery, wide open spaces, birdsong and fresh air, but transport issues often pull event organisers back towards the big smoke. Here are a few well-connected and “not so far away venues” to consider, all of which are within the M25.
The Pavilion at Syon Park
This flexible pop-up structure (pictured) is in place from May to September, offering a perfect setting for summer conferences, parties and company fun days for 300- 800 guests. With its four acres of parkland, it offers plenty of room for family fun day and team building activities. It is just 15 minutes from Syon Lane Station and has plenty of on-site parking.
Wrotham Park
For large scale company festivals or high end Management meetings, this imposing country house and estate sits in an ocean of green calm just a mile from the M25 and M1. The house is often used as a film set, but its beautiful parkland, imposing façade and amazing views all combine to deliver a real out-of town experience, just half an hour from the city centre.
Micklefield Hall
Hidden away in ancient woodland near Rickmansworth, this stunning Georgian private house constructed in 1740, is available for smaller dinners and private meetings, with its recently opened and beautifully restored 16th Century Tithe Barn, overlooking acres of parkland, offering space for up to 300 for a standing reception and up to 200 for a dinner dance.
The Conservatory at Painshill
These award-winning and famous landscaped gardens, just a mile from the M25 in Surrey, is home to this year-round event space, nestled within a walled garden at the centre of Painshill Park. The venue has stunning interior and exterior lighting and a huge contemporary style deck overlooking the mature gardens. The perfect venue for summer conferences and away days for 100-300 guests.
