Here at Story we love to experiment with inventive themes over the Christmas season. This undoubtedly sets the mood, allowing a tale to unravel and creating a more memorable experience for guests.
Therefore, we’re sharing a few venues that have (in our opinion) nailed their Christmas themes for 2019.
‘The Northumberland Express’ at 8 Northumberland Avenue – Guests are greeted at the platform before departing on a luxurious, exciting journey onboard. With moving scenery and audio-visual affects that make you feel like you are steaming through the snowy countryside before arriving at your destination, by this time the party is in full swing.
‘A’ la Dine’ at The Vaults – A’ la Dine is a grown-up panto combined with a gastronomic banquet. Combining the imagination and peculiarities of a Darling and Edge production with the thigh-slapping, big characters from the pantomime, Aladdin. Expect overtly theatrical immersive designs and a feast fit for a prince.
‘Alice in Winterland’ at the Hellenic Centre – Guests will enjoy a sparkling reception where they will be sipping from ‘drink me’ flutes. Giant illuminated frames adorn the walls alongside the grand staircase. Reaching the bottom guests face large iron gates. Here the experience shifts into a beautiful Winterland with crisp white linens, illuminated table centres and a glacier bar.
A ‘Dickensian’ Christmas at Finsbury Square – Set in the very surroundings where the man himself once walked, Finsbury Square have drawn inspiration from the romantic, nostalgic Dickensian times. Think old London town street party, chimney sweeps, amongst twinkling chandeliers.
