Story were swept up into the clouds as they entered Sky High Dining on the Emirates Air Line, one of Jimmy Garcia’s fantastic pop-ups on offer this summer.
As we approached the emirates cable car, it felt like we were about to embark on quite the adventure. We stepped onto the cable car platform, where we were greeted with a much needed glass of champagne (as it was a slightly dreary day!) The delights continued with a selection of creative and unexpected canapes including charcoal cones filled with beetroot cream. Our standing starter consisted of a seared scallop, presented beautifully in a shell amongst chickpeas and chorizo.
Shortly after we were ushered into our cable car, which was set up perfectly for four people to enjoy the picturesque views. Our waiters placed down a plate of perfectly cooked lamb, potato dauphinoise and avocado puree and we shuffled in before the doors closed. This is where our journey through the sky began. Undeniably breath taking views, with carefully curated courses – who could ask for more?
After the first round trip, our plates were cleared and pudding served. We placed our order for an espresso martini which we enjoyed in the last leg of the journey before disembarking. Overlooking the iconic O2 arena and an impressive city skyline – this is definitely an experience that shouldn’t be missed. Jimmy Garcia is the brains behind this culinary creation. He spotted an opportunity, and oh my goodness it is going to be the talk of the town this summer.
