Global Disability Summit Conference
The UK Department for International Development tasked us with organising the inaugural Global Disability Summit in 2018, held at Here East in London. We ensured the event catered to the needs of attendees with various disabilities, accommodating 2,000 guests from around the world. They designed a multi-room layout and provided wheelchair-accessible staging, braille, and text-to-sign language translation services.
Event Brief
The UK Department for International Development set a brief to organise the first ever Global Disability Summit in London, hosted at Here East in 2018.
Delivery
The two-day summit saw 2,000 guests flown in from all corners of the globe. Smart Live designed event solutions to consider persons with varying types and levels of disabilities, many of whom had never been to the UK before. We created a multi-room layout to enable an action packed agenda across the two days, and organised elements such as wheelchair accessible staging, braille and text to sign language translating.
Result
It was a ground breaking event that brought together an international audience to help create real change across the world and we felt privileged to be part of making this happen.
