Brief
Having worked with this client in 2022 on their internal awards, Story was requested to support again this year. The brief was to source a venue near the City that could accommodate up to 550 theatre style, then provide a space for the standing summer party. The production specification was a key focus for the marketing team overseeing the awards internally. Whilst the social committee overseeing the summer party wanted to ensure that the networking part of the event was filled with summer fun and interaction.
Delivery
After a thorough venue search the client chose HAC City Central for this year’s awards. The venue offered a great amount of space both inside and out, suiting the format of this event. The garden space set within the stunning grounds of the Honourable Artillery Company added another dynamic for guests to enjoy, complete with a funfair including, ferris wheel, games, carousel and dodgems! The theme chosen to make this space more unique to our client was the British Summer Fête.
The event kicked off with the internal awards. Our Production Manager, Harry, worked with the approved suppliers in upgrading the in-house kit to our client’s required specification. Harry oversaw the lighting design, and running of the show including music, video content and sli.do.
The Event Manager, Vicky, oversaw the full execution of the event from design and installation, to registration and catering through to feedback at the end of the event. The theme was brought to life with streams of bunting, lanterns, gingham cloths, and stunning florals. Guests were able to take advantage of the giant deck chair for team pictures before heading onto one of the branded dodgems.
Guests enjoyed canapés and Pimms before indulging in the circulated bowl food options and food stations. Maddox wowed guests with his captivating magic, whilst Saskia performed smooth notes on the sax. Story also organised Ministry of Cocktails to provide some delicious mocktail options throughout the evening. Whilst Fluffy Puffin provided the ice cream treats, which were perfect for the warm day! The night finished with DJ Dre who performed back in the main space of the venue, getting the guests up on their feet and dancing.
Result
The client was thrilled with the overall look and feel of the event, and gave special mention of how smoothly everything ran, especially with the last-minute tech changes. Another successful event for a very valued client!
