BRIEF
Story was approached by Hampstead Village BID following a recommendation from another client, Hatton Garden BID team. We were brought in to work alongside the BID team to develop an outdoor Christmas festival which would be inclusive and embraced the spirit of Christmas, whilst promoting the Hampstead Village Brand and showcasing the local community.
DELIVERY
On Sunday December 1st, Story Events took over Hampstead High Street for 19 hours. Our expert Operations team oversaw the construction of the event, incorporating bespoke Alpine Christmas Huts, children’s rides, a live performance stage, roving Christmas characters, and Santa with an elf at the Hampstead Village Grotto! The street was dressed with forest garlands, glittering fairy lights and bespoke pallet seating – all to create a cosy atmosphere for the guests.
Over the course of three months, Story helped source 25 stallholders for the event, developing supplier relationships and collecting crucial equipment information to secure their spaces at the Festival.
Story ran the event logistics in the lead-up including council liaison, road closure management, OH&S management, security, first aid, and waste disposal. Event Safety Plans were developed. The Story team worked alongside all stakeholders to produce a safe and merry event for the local community.
RESULTS
The event was an enormous success with a steady flow of guests on the street throughout the day. The event build, supplier arrival and stallholder arrival ran to schedule which resulted in happy stakeholders, with suppliers and stallholders asking to be involved in 2020. Story was able to create a Christmas themed festival all within the client’s budget, showcasing the whole community and making everyone feel welcome on the day.
