Brief
Story Events has had the pleasure of working with JustGiving since 2017; helping to grow their annual awards ceremony year on year. After a forced hiatus due to the pandemic, the 2022 brief focused more than ever on being ‘the best yet’; with growth required across attendance, reach, impact and production scale. We needed to source a venue to host 475 guests which would make those attending feel as though they were in an iconic space. We also needed to make sure those watching the event on a livestream would still get to experience the full impact of this inspirational night. Most importantly of all, we needed to create a spectacular evening in order to celebrate the achievements of some truly incredible people and some equally amazing charities.
Delivery
Following a successful afternoon of site visits, the Roundhouse was chosen to host the JustGiving Awards 2022. This iconic venue comes with some incredible in-house production, which allowed our team to develop the look and feel of the event in collaboration with trusted supplier White Light. We installed a huge LED Wall to showcase the integral finalist films, as well as displaying live social media content throughout the evening. To really amp up the atmosphere in this legendary gig venue, Story contracted the amazing LDN Showband to play live stings throughout the night as well as to close the evening with a superb set of party tunes which ensured guests could celebrate in style on the dancefloor.
Story Events sourced the celebrity hosts and award presenters working directly with their agents and management teams. Jordan North and Vick Hope were the most fabulous hosts for the evening whilst the awards presenters included Sophie Habboo & Jamie Laing, Konnie Huq, Josh Paterson and Saffron Barker to name but a few.
A delicious three-course menu was provided by the wonderful Moving Venue and stunning floral centrepieces from our friends at Hybrid made sure that room was dressed immaculately.
The evening was live-streamed on the JustGiving website allowing so many more to watch at home and celebrate the incredible efforts of the fundraisers.
The installation of two purple-carpet step and repeat boards meant that guests were able to capture their own VIP photos on one board whilst the press used the other. A 9-camera motion capture photobooth ensured that all guests could take away a wonderfully interactive memento of the night. Once all the awards had finished, Vick & Jordan closed the night with a huge round of applause for all the finalists and winners and then LDN Showband turned up the volume and everybody hit the dancefloor.
